R.A.D. Syllabus (Royal Academy of Dance)
The R.A.D. has an internationally known syllabus
providing students with a strong basis and technique in classical
ballet. It offers students the opportunity to achieve goals though
progressively built graded examinations. These exams will indicate
to the student, parents and teachers the strengths and weaknesses in
their performance.
As teachers of the R.A.D. we encourage students to achieve their
personal best. We recognize the importance of safe teaching
techniques and that good teaching will bring the best results.
It is very important that all students are well prepared physically
and mentally for their exam. Confidence will have an impact on good
results. The development of each child varies, so sufficient time is
needed to be prepared. In some cases extra time may have to be spent
which can only be the best for the child in the long term.
Being trained in the R.A.D. syllabus gives a wonderful foundation to
students who wish to pursue a career in any dance related area.
Students will only be entered for their exams if they attend the
required classes and the compulsory exam preparation school held
each year during the Term 2 school holidays.
